Kevin Coval is a regular on Russell Simmons’ HBO’s Def Poetry Jam. A Chicago Hip-Hop
poet, Coval’s writing has appeared in The Spoken Word Revolution, Xcp: Cross Cultural
Poetics, The Chicago Tribune, and elsewhere. He teaches with Young Chicago Authors,
holds seminars at City As Classroom School, and drops his verses omnisciently across
Chicago and across the globe (from the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Cape Town,
South Africa, to St. Xavier’s in Bombay, India).
